Privacy policy
Short version: no accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies, and tutor questions are not stored by this site.

What this site does not do
- It does not require an account.
- It does not set tracking or advertising cookies.
- It does not load third-party analytics, advertising or social media scripts.
- It does not sell or share personal data.
What is stored in your own browser
Two things are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only: your light or dark theme choice, and your AI tutor conversation history. You can delete tutor history at any time from the tutor page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. This site cannot read that history.
The AI tutor
When you ask the tutor a question:
- Your question and the recent turns of that conversation are sent to this site's server.
- The server searches this site's own articles and labs for relevant passages.
- If an AI provider is configured, the question, recent conversation turns and the retrieved passages are sent to that provider to write the answer. The provider processes them under its own terms and privacy policy.
This site does not store your questions or the answers. Server logs record events such as "answer produced" or "rate limit reached", the number of tokens used, and a shortened one-way hash of your IP address used to prevent abuse. They do not record question text.
If you rate an answer with the thumbs buttons, the rating, an optional reason and the IDs of the source passages are logged, without your question or the answer.
Do not enter personal, confidential or sensitive information in the tutor.
Rate limiting
To stop abuse and control cost, the tutor and search count requests per connection using a hashed IP address. These counters expire automatically within 24 hours.
Hosting
Like any website, the hosting provider receives technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and may keep short-lived access logs for security and reliability.
Tools
The tools on this site, such as the token counter and the header analyzer, run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to the server.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply. See the contact page.
Changes
If these practices change, for example if analytics or accounts are added, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
